Marilyn L. Hunt

PITTSFIELD – Marilyn L. Hunt, 90, died peacefully on March 18, 2024, in Bangor.

She was born on March 8, 1934, in Dixmont, a daughter of the late Miles H. Leavitt and Mildred A. (Swazey) Weymouth.

Marilyn was a housewife most of her life and stayed busy raising her four kids. She enjoyed spring and summers, planting flowers around her home, and growing strawberries and raspberries in her vegetable gardens. She was a good cook, especially her whoopie pies which the kids would fight for. She also enjoyed crafting and loved cats. She always had between two and five of her own and took care of feeding many of the strays in her neighborhood.

She is survived by three children, Richard Hunt and wife, Nancy, Deborah Chute, and Brent Hunt; 12 grandchildren; sevem great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joe and Larry, sister, Christine; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; loving husband of 73 years, Clayton Hunt; son, Craig Hunt, son-in-law, Don Chute, daughter-in-law, Cynthia (Day) Hunt; and two sisters, Charlotte and Darlene.

A private ceremony for family for both Clayton and Marilyn will be held in the spring.
