Wallace L. Humphrey Jr.

WINTHROP – Wallace L. Humphrey, Jr., 69, a longtime resident of Sidney, died unexpectedly Sunday, March 24, 2024, at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. He was born in Augusta, on July 21, 1954, a son of the late Wallace L. Humphrey, Sr. and Elestine M. (Whitten) Humphrey.

Mr. Humphrey attended Hallowell schools and was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church.

He had been employed by the State of Maine, Department of Transportation, drove for Becket School in Belgrade, and, more recently, worked for Messalonskee School District.

Mr. Humphrey was a long time member, and former President, of the North Augusta Trailblazers Club.

Mr. Humphrey was predeceased by his wife, Constance J. (Patenaude) Humphrey; a brother, George Humphrey and two sisters, Janet Theriault and Judith Haskell.

He is survived by his daughter, Michelle D. Humphrey of Sidney, his son, Michael W. Humphrey of Windsor; a brother, David Humphrey of Chelsea, two sisters, Peggy Haskell of Augusta and Elaine Peters of Hallowell; five grandchildren, ShaMiracle Humphrey, Owen Humphrey, Brantley Humphrey, Aubrey Humphrey and Alyvia Humphrey; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends may visit on Monday, April 1 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 2 at 11 a.m. Burial and committal prayers will be held later this spring in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Western Ave., Manchester.
