The Travis Mills Foundation’s annual Vietnam-Era Veterans Breakfast was held Wednesday at the Augusta Civic Center. The free event hosted 600 veterans and guests for breakfast, speeches and music by the Volunteer Improvisers. All photos by staff photographer Joe Phelan.

The Kennebec County Veterans Honor Guard walks away Wednesday after presenting the colors during The Travis Mills Foundation’s annual Vietnam-Era Veterans Breakfast at the Augusta Civic Center. The free event was attended by 600 veterans who registered in advance. Each veteran was able to bring one guest. Travis Mills wasn’t able to attend, but sent a video message welcoming people to the event. Norm Karkos of Binnie Media hosted the event and gave a speech about his father, a Marine who served in Vietnam. Heather Hemphill, executive director of the Travis Mills Foundation, also spoke.
