Alexa Kelsey of Richmond, a senior at Richmond High School has been selected to receive the 2024 Principal’s Award. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.

Throughout her four years at Richmond High School, Kelsey — daughter of Ben and Erica Kelsey — has distinguished herself through her leadership, maturity and dedication. She has served as the president of both the National Honor Society and the Key Club at Richmond High School, and was also a member of the varsity soccer team, according to a news release from the school.
She is a top ranked student in her class, while talking a challenging schedule of concurrent enrollment college classes and honors level courses.
“Alexa has always been a quiet leader in our school. She strives to do her best, while always taking the time to help those around her. She is very deserving of this honor,” said Principal Karl Matulis.
Kelsey, Matulis and other award winners and their principals will attend an honors luncheon on Saturday, April 6 at Jeff’s Catering.
The award is presented in more than 100 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA.
