Mid-Coast Audubon takes a group of birders on a field trip of Salt Bay Farm in Damariscotta. Mid-Coast Audubon

DAMARISCOTTA — Mid-Coast Audubon and Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust are set to co-lead a birding field trip on Saturday, April 13, to the Salt Bay Farm in Damariscotta.

The group plans to walk the meadow looking for Savannah and other sparrows, scan the pond for ducks and geese, investigate the forest edges for early migrating warblers and songbirds, and then scan the Great Salt Bay for gulls, ducks, eagles, Osprey and Belted Kingfishers.

The eBird database has records for 212 species at this birding hotspot, according to a news release from Jeff Cherry with Mid-Coast Audubon.

Birders of all ages and skill levels are welcome. Attendees do not need to be an Audubon member or have advanced birding skills to join in.

The group will meet at 7 a.m. at the Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust parking lot, 110 Belvedere Road.
