The Sebasticook Regional Land Trust is set to continues its 2024 speaker series with a talk by land surveyor Frank Siviski. The talk runs from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at the Benton Grange, 29 River Road in Benton.
The sight of land surveyors peering into tripod-mounted equipment by the roadside is common enough, but what are they actually doing? Siviski, a professional land surveyor with more than 30 years of experience, will shed light on the seemingly mysterious world of boundary determinations, according to a news release from the land trust.
Siviski has taught survey-related courses at Unity College, and was an instructor at Kennebec Valley Community College. His talk aims to help landowners understand how surveys are created, standards that are applied, and how landowners’ goals shape the outcome.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
