WINTERPORT – William Earl Rodzen of Winterport passed away, with his wife by his side, Friday March 29, 2024.

He was born in Monmouth on Oct. 21, 1936, to Joseph and Winona (Curtis) Rodzen. He attended Monmouth schools and graduated from Litchfield Academy in 1955.

Bill worked for McFarlands of Augusta, as Parts Manager, for many years and then at Charlie’s of Augusta, in the same capacity, for a few years until his retirement in 1999.

Bill married Darlene Berry Dec. 22, 1955 and they had almost 51 years together until her passing in August 2006. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years, three of which were spent in Alaska.

Bill was a member of Masonic Temple Lodge AF & AM, attaining the highest level of Master in 1973. He was a member of Winthrop Congregational Church and later Hermon Baptist Church.

On May 17, 2008 Bill married Meredith (Tuttle) Clements and they shared life together until his passing.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, his in-laws Leroy and Doris Berry; his sister, Jo and her husband Dale McLaughlin and brother-in-law, David Simonds.

He is survived by his wife, Meredith; his sister, Lyn Simonds, his sister-in-law, Colleen Patterson; his sons Eric(Denise), Mark(Cathy) and Todd Rodzen, his stepsons Dale and Dwayne Bailey, Glenn Clements-Bailey. He is survived by his grandsons Tristan (Heidi), Damon (Jake) and Logan (Kayla) Rodzen; and great-grandchildren Teaghan, Holden, Landon, Andrew and Addison Rodzen. Bill is also survived by his life long friend, Ralph Burnham of Monmouth.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday April 27 at 11 a.m. at Hermon Baptist Church. A graveside service will take place at Glenside Cemetery in Winthrop at a later date.
