The Girl Scouts of Maine is set to host a free Green ME Up Earth Day celebration, featuring hands-on environmental activities for the public.

The event runs from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at the L.L. Bean Flagship Store Campus in Freeport.

Green ME Up is an annual festival of sustainability celebrating Earth Day. The event encourages attendees to take environmental action in their communities by enacting eco-friendly change in Maine and beyond.

Featured hands-on learning opportunities include a rock-climbing wall, handmade crafts, recycling games, papermaking, community science projects and seed planting. There will also be live musical performances from Junk2Funk, Gorham Steel, and Barracuda Steel. There also will be food trucks from PB&ME and Maine-ly Meatballs.
