Smart is an active member of the Cony community. She contributes her talents to various extracurricular activities, including the Latin Club, where she also serves as a student aide to her Latin teacher.

She also is an accomplished poet, having received both an honorable mention and second place in a local poetry contest. Smart took on the challenge of designing the new Augusta School Department logo and her class of 2024 school T-shirt.

Smart plans to attend the University of Maine at Orono in the fall to study fine/studio arts, with aspirations of becoming an art teacher.

Finalists for this recognition included Owen Dunn of Mount Vernon, a senior at Maranacook Community High School, and Jessica Hendsbee of Whitefield, a senior at Erskine Academy. Dunn is in the plumbing and heating program, and Hendsbee is in the early childhood education program for the second year.
