The Gardiner Library Association plans to hold a plant sale at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 18, at Gardiner Public Library, 152 Water St.
Gardeners are encouraged to share their plants. All types of plants are welcome — natives, cuttings, seedlings, divided perennials, herbs and vegetables.
Plants need to be healthy and pest-free. Invasive species are not wanted.
All plants must be in pots and labeled. They will sell for $1, $3, $5 and $10; all proceeds will go to the association, which maintains the building and gardens.
Plants can be delivered between 3-7 p.m. Friday, May 17, to the library, or before 7:30 a.m. May 18. Volunteers will be available for assistance.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
