AUGUSTA — Four players recorded multiple hits and the Cony baseball team stole 11 bases as the Rams defeated Erskine Academy 12-2 in six innings Friday.

Parker Morin was 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs for Cony (1-1), and Landon Foster, Anderson Noyes and Lance Theriault also had two hits each. Theriault struck out six and allowed three hits over five innings to earn the win.

Ryan Tyler was 2 for 3 for Erskine, which fell to 0-1.

 

MARANACOOK 3, MADISON 2: Caldre Glowa and Grady Hreven combined for a one-hitter as the Black Bears (1-0) won their season opener at Readfield.

Dakota Lemeli had two hits for Maranacook, and Brandon Chilton added a double.

Madison is 0-1.

 

SOFTBALL

 

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 7, LISBON 5: The Mustangs (1-0) pulled past the Greyhounds (0-1) with a four-run fourth inning in Monmouth.

Monmouth plated three runs in the bottom of the second to take a 3-1 lead, but Lisbon tied the game with two runs in the third and scored another run to go up 4-3 in the top of the fourth.

Shannah Parsons tripled, singled and drove in two runs for the Mustangs. She also earned the win by pitching seven innings and striking out eight batters. Bella Lyons and Mati Conde each hit a double.

Bella Pomerleau tallied two hits for Lisbon.

 

EDWARD LITTLE 7, MESSALONSKEE 2: A 14-hit effort boosted the Red Eddies (1-1) over the Eagles (0-2) in Auburn.

Edward Little’s offensive attack was highlighted by Emily Horton’s two-run double in the second inning and Izzy Jalbert’s two-run triple in the fourth.

Jalbert also doubled and singled. Her three hits tied Kylee Lebrun for the game high. Naomi Valcin, Leah Thibodeau and Kassidy Lobb each tallied two hits. Lobb also pitched all seven innings for the Eddies, striking out two and allowing five hits.

Messalonskee pitcher Maddi Wilson doubled and drove in both of the Eagles’ runs, and Lexi Bayne had a pair of hits.

 

BOYS LACROSSE

 

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 15, GARDINER 11: Zach Leinward and Gavin Thomas each tallied three goals and an assist as the Panthers (2-1) defeated the Tigers (0-1) in Yarmouth.

Jack Bathe also netted three goals, and Hugo Daniel added two goals and two assists. Liam Street posted a goal and four assists.

Cody Dingwell scored four goals for Gardiner and Owen Chadwick chipped in with three. Brayden Elliott logged two goals and two assists.
