AUGUSTA — Maine Arts Academy is set to serve up the comedy “The Servant of Two Masters” Friday through Sunday, May 3-5, at 310 Cony Road.

Chaos ensues when the crafty servant Truffaldino creates a crazy scheme to double his wages by serving two masters at the same time — without them knowing. Add two sets of lovers who can’t seem to get together, plus a dead man come back to life, to provide the ultimate in comic confusion, according to a news release from the academy. Directed by Stephen Legawiec, the production has life music.

The cast includes students Emily Carlton as Truffaldino, Meghan Rivard as Pantalone, Max Wilbur as The Doctor, Noah Spieldenner as Silvio, Allie Lerch as Clarice, Amara Beganny as Beatrice, Isaac Smith as Florindo, Skylar Dixon as Smeraldina, Hannah “Atlas” Piecewicz as Brighella, Lena Page as the Head Waiter, and Asher Allerding as the Porter. The clown ensemble is Emma Farris, Alea Goodwin, Jillian Muller, Skylar Low, Phoebe Pignatello, Nathan Sanborn, and Olexa Yenco.

Legawiec has curated more than 100 plays in his 30-year career, while directing over 75. His plays have won many awards, including the Garland Award for Los Angeles Production of the Year. He is director of theater at the academy.

“The Servant of Two Masters” is written by Carlo Goldoni and directed by Legawiec. Movement/commedia consultant is Dana Legawiec. Costume design is by Anne Collins. Fight director is Angela Bonacasa, and the stage manager is Paige “Bo” Desmarais.

Performances are set for 7 p.m. Friday, May 3, and at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 4-5. ATickets cost $10.
