CLINTON — Police say the body of a Clinton man was found Monday following a daylong search that included the Maine Warden Service.

Shortly before 6:30 p.m., Monday, the Clinton Police Department announced via its Facebook page that the body of Damon Bickford, 40, of Clinton had been discovered in the woods.
No foul play was suspected, and it appeared he died by suicide, according to police officials.
“The Clinton Police Department sends its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Damon Bickford at this difficult time,” the announcement read.
Earlier Monday, Clinton police had asked for the public’s help in locating Bickford, who had been missing since about 10 p.m. Sunday from his home at 1665 Bangor Road, noting he had left his cellphone at home.

On Monday, the Maine Warden Service deployed using both a search dog and its airplane to search the Bangor Road area, which Clinton police said was invaluable in the search.
