John C. DeRosby III
BURNHAM – John C. DeRosby III, 73, died on Friday, April 19, 2024, in Pittsfield.
He was born on Dec. 20, 1950, in Waterville, a son of the late John and Ruth (Pratt) DeRosby Jr. He graduated from Waterville High School with the class of 1969 and worked for over 30 years at Huhtamaki. He was mechanically inclined, a good critical thinker, and was very handy. He was a great carpenter and built the home his family lived in.
John was the happiest outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. Spending time with his brother-in-law cutting wood and riding the 4 wheelers together was one of his favorite things to do. He liked his Boston sports and loved being with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine DeRosby; children: William DeRosby and wife Angela, Michael DeRosby, Jenny Reynolds and husband William, and John DeRosby and wife Mona; grandchildren: Kari, Jordan, Matthew, Nicholas, Dylan, Emma, AnnElise, Ava, Ella, Jack, and Jane; great-grandchildren: Isabella, Madeline, Zoie, Nicholas Jr., and DJ; siblings: Jill, Jane, Jan, and Tommy; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; and siblings: Ann and Jimmy.
A gathering will be held by the family in the summer.
