SKOWHEGAN — Lily Noyes fired a two-hitter as Skowhegan remained unbeaten by beating Nokomis 5-1 in softball action Monday.

Noyes also had two hits and an RBI at the plate for the River Hawks (5-0). Teammate Annabelle Morris had a triple, and Maddy Morris added a double.

Mia Coots tossed a six-hitter for Nokomis (3-2).

 

MADISON 12, TELSTAR 2: Hope Nadeau and Mackenzie Robbins each had three RBIs for the Bulldogs in a five-inning win in Madison.

Ashleigh Padelford drove home while Ella Haynie and Kylee Furbush each had an RBI for Madison (2-2), and Emma Anton added a double in the win. Furbush pitched all five innings, allowed six hits, striking out eight and walking four.

Makenzie Eliot had a double and triple for Telstar (1-5). Morgan Zetts and Maylyn Hasting each had a RBI in the losing effort.

 

LEWISTON 7, OAK HILL 5: Ava Dionne was a catalyst on offense and was the winning pitcher for the Blue Devils, who handed the Raiders their first loss of the season in in Lewiston.

Dionne had a team-high three hits to go along with two RBIs, finishing a home run shy of the cycle. Jersey Cunningham had two hits and two RBIs for Lewiston (3-3), Irelyn Ackley hit a double and collected two RBIs, and Aubrey Peer had two hits and an RBI. Aubrey Wood also had two hits. Dionne struck out five batters in seven innings.

Ava Rivet paced Oak Hill (3-1) with four hits, featuring a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored. Aubrey McElhaney had two hits, including a double, and scored two runs. Delia Custer hit a triple and drove in two runs.

MCI 4, FOXCROFT ACADEMY 1: Kassie Snowman threw a two-hitter and struck out 13 batters as the Huskies (5-1) beat the Ponies (1-2) in Dover-Foxcroft.

Snowman also had two hits and a RBI for MCI. Jillian Riendeau had two hits, and Chichi Rivera had a single and two runs for the Huskies.

 

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 20, WATERVILLE 0: The Phoenix plated 13 runs in the first inning to pull away early in Jay.

Spruce Mountain (4-1) added seven runs in the second inning. Rylee Turner and Jazmine Pingree each tallied two hits and Samantha Hodgkin had a double.

Turner and Hodgkin each pitched an inning and allowed a hit. Turner also struck out three batters.

Waterville is 0-3.

 

BUCKFIELD 18, RICHMOND 0: The Bucks’ offense exploded and pitcher Carmen Crockett held the Bobcats  scoreless in a three-inning mercy rule victory in Buckfield.

Crockett struck out 10 batters in three innings. She also had a triple, a single, drove in three runs and scored three.

Cora Brewster led Buckfield (4-0) with three hits, including a double, and she drove in three runs. Lillian Sharples tallied two hits and Sophie St. Pierre had a double and two RBIs.

Richmond is 2-2.

BASEBALL

 

TELSTAR 8, WINTHROP 3: Connor Deprey struck out eight batters and allowed six hits as the Rebels won in Bethel.

Telstar (2-3) catcher Brennan Walker had a single and threw out two baserunners, and teamamte Nick Zolad had a single and and RBI.

Will Grant had a single and a double for Winthrop (3-2).

SKOWHEGAN 8, NOKOMIS 0: Noah McMahon and Trevor Austin combined on a six-hitter as the River Hawks won in Skowhegan.

McMahon and Austin also had two hits apiece at the plate for Skowhegan (4-1), and teammate Tyler Clark had two hits and two RBIs.

Jacob Neumayer had three hits for Nokomis (2-2).

 

MT. BLUE 6, MT. ABRAM 0: Nolan Leso helped the Cougars score four in the top of the fifth with a single in a win over the Roadrunners in Salem Township.

Mt. Blue (2-2) had five hits in the game with Leso adding a triple. Dane Cousineau delivered a double.

Payton Mitchell had two hits, including a double, for Mt. Abram (3-1). He took the loss on the mound, striking out three in five inning.
