WALES — Eli Gosselin drove in five runs and Cooper Spencer drove in three as the Oak Hill baseball team defeated Gardiner 12-5 on Wednesday.

Landen Denis had three hits and scored three times for Oak Hill (4-1).

Trent Drouin pitched the whole game, striking out five Gardiner batters. The Tigers fell to 2-4.

 

EDWARD LITTLE 10, SKOWHEGAN 0: TJ Kramarz and Peyton Dyer had three RBIs each as the Red Eddies (2-5) won handily on Auburn.

Dyer celebrated his 18th birthday by knocking in Brooks Beaudry to score the final run to end the game an inning early for Edward Little (2-5). Beaudry, Dyer and Kramarz each hit a triple.

Owen Scott pitched all six innings for the Red Eddies, striking out eight and allowing zero runs and three hits.

Chance Tibbetts logged two hits for Skowhegan (4-2) and Brayden Bellerose recorded five strikeouts in three innings.

 

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 17, MADISON 0: Levi Laverdiere singled twice in the second inning and once in the third inning to lead the Mustangs to the win in Monmouth.

Monmouth (4-1) jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Laverdiere’s single, scoring two runs. Brandon Smith, Lucas Harmon and Rory Foyt doubled, and Isaac Cote and Laverdiere singled.

Laverdiere pitched three innings, giving up zero hits and zero runs while striking out three and walking two.

Madison (0-4) tallied one hit, a single by Griffin Aldrich off Monmouth reliever Kyle Lepage.

 

MT. ABRAM 6, BOOTHBAY/WISCASSET 1: A three-run fifth inning propelled the Roadrunners to the win in Salem Township.

Logan Dube pitched all six innings for Mt. Abram (4-1), allowing seven hits. He also had a double and a single at the pate.

Finn Harkins pitched six innings for Boothbay/Wiscasset (2-3).

SOFTBALL

 

DIRIGO 16, WATERVILLE 0: The Cougars scored 10 runs in the third inning, led by Nikole Turnbull’s four RBIs, in the win over the Panthers in Dixfield.

Lana Waite hit a home run for Dirigo (3-1) and also pitched three innings with five strikeouts. Keira Reny hit two doubles, and Emily Woods, Turnbull, Waite and Reny each had two hits. Abby Luczynski, Hannah Hamner and Turnbull each hit a triple.

Maddy Martin pitched three innings for Waterville (1-5).

SKOWHEGAN 10, EDWARD LITTLE 0: Carlie Jarvais homered to help the River Hawks (6-0) prevail in five innings in Auburn.

Riley Welch had three hits and Maddie Morris hit a triple and a single for Skowhegan. Starting pitcher Lillian Noyes helped her cause with two hits of her own. Noyes struck out five while allowing three hits and four walks in five innings.

Allie Michaud, Mackenzie Grenier and Izzy Jalbert each had a hit for Edward Little (4-3).

 

MCI 7, FOXCROFT ACADEMY 6: Jyllian Riendeau had two hits, including a triple, to lead the Huskies (6-1) to a win over the Ponies (1-3) in Pittsfield.

Kassie Snowman smacked a two-run double for MCI, and struck out eight to earn the win in the circle. Kayleigh Dunton added two hits.

 

BOYS LACROSSE

 

MARANACOOK/WINTHROP 13, MORSE/BOOTHBAY 9: Caleb Morgan topped the charts with four goals and two assists as the Hawks (5-0) outproduced the Shipbuilders (3-2) in Readfield.

Ethan Chilton had a hat trick, Owen Lyons delivered two goals and three assists and Bennett Ross was right there with two goals and two assists. Owen Dunn and Cobey Dunn scored a goal apiece.

Maranacook/Winthrop goalie Lucas Woodruff stopped nine of 18 shots by Morse/Boothbay, which tallied four even-strength goals.
