MONMOUTH — Sammy Calder had three hits, including an RBI single in the fourth inning that helped the Monmouth Academy baseball team defeat Sacopee Valley 7-5 on Friday.

Jacob Harmon had two hits and Carter O’Connell doubled and drove in two runs for Monmouth (5-1), which broke a 4-4 tie with two runs in the fourth. Kyle Palleschi pitched a complete game.

Brady Metcalf and James Ritter each recorded a double and a single for Sacopee Valley (5-2). Caleb Vacchiano also had two hits, and Dylan Capano struck out seven in six innings.

 

MARANACOOK 8, LISBON 0: Walker Dumas had two hits and four RBIs as the Black Bears (6-1) earned the win in Readfield.

Brandon Chilton also had two hits for Maranacook.

Black Bear pitchers Caldre Glowa and Kody Gaucher combined to throw a six-hitter.

Gerek Theriault had two hits for Lisbon (4-3).

 

SOFTBALL

 

ST. DOMINIC 9, MT. ABRAM 6: The Saints’ three-run bottom of the fourth was the difference in the win in Auburn.

St. Dom’s (6-1) scored four in the bottom of the first and Mt. Abram matched that in the top of the second. The Saints went up 6-4 in the third, only for the Roadrunners to tie it in the top of the fourth.

Lily Fortin had two hits, two RBIs and scored a run for St. Dom’s, and she was the winning pitcher with five strikeouts in five hitless innings of relief. Sophia Franciose also drove in two runs and Emily Andrews hit a triple.

Adrianna Stinchfield struck out 10 in six innings for Mt. Abram (1-4). Katelyn Holt had two of the Roadrunners’ three hits. Edna Bilodeau collected the other, along with an RBI and a run scored.

 

GIRLS LACROSSE

 

LINCOLN ACADEMY 9, ERSKINE ACADEMY 7: Mariam DeLisle scored five goals to lead Lincoln (3-3) to the win at Newcastle.

Celia Brinkler chipped in with three goals. Abby Koop was the other goal scorer, and Scarlett O’Brien added an assist.

Belle Pelotte and Abbie McDonough each tallied two goals for Erskine (4-2). Maddy McNeff, Jackie Sasse and Shannon McDonough also scored.
