ShineOnCass Animal Baby Shower & PJ Party canceled

ShineOnCass Animal Baby Shower & PJ Party, scheduled for Sunday, May 5, at Hart-to-Hart Farm & Education Center in Albion, has been canceled.

Hart-to-Hart Farm is working to rebuild after the devastating windstorm that destroyed its barns and displaced all its dairy cows. The cleanup has taken longer than they anticipated. While they had hoped to have the property ready for the event, weather and other factors have delayed work in removing unsafe debris. In the interest of safety, and to allow the Hartkopf family to return to a working dairy farm and education center, the event had to be canceled, according to a news release from Monica Wilcox Charette with the ShineOnCass Foundation.

Donations of pet food and other items (shower gifts) in memory of Cassidy Charette will still be accepted at the Humane Society Waterville Area. Here’s a list of urgent need items:

• Blankets/towels/linens
• Purina One dry dog food
• Purina Cat Naturals dry food
• Any wet cat food
• Stamps
• Cedar litter pellets
• Laundry detergent
• Dog treats
• Hard chew dog toys
• Cat scratchers
