JAY — After the Oak Hill rallied in the late innings, Spruce Mountain put an end to the Mountain Valley Conference softball matchup by plating two runs in the bottom of the seventh for an 8-7 walk-off win Tuesday.

Spruce Mountain (7-1) led 6-1 after four innings, but Oak Hill clawed back with one run each in the fifth and sixth, then a four-run top of the seventh to take a 7-6 lead.

Mallory Clark and Ashley Nelson each had three hits for the Phoenix, while Jaydn Pingree, Jazmine Pingree and Devin Bryant each delivered two.

Izzy Whitaker led the Raiders (4-3) with three hits, and Carlee Austin, Delia Custer and Sydney Wood added two apiece.

 

CARRABEC 19-20, TEMPLE ACADEMY 4-0: The Cobras (5-3) swept a doubleheader in North Anson.

In game one, Aiyana Tibbetts homered and Lilliana Caldwell tripled for Carrabec, while pitcher Jillian Robinson allowed three hits over four innings to earn the win.

In game two, Tibbetts doubled and tripled for the Cobras (5-3) while Jillian Robinson pitched three hitless innings to earn the win. Temple Academy fell to 0-8.

 

EDWARD LITTLE 18, MT. BLUE 2: The Red Eddies scored 12 runs in the first inning to beat the Cougars in Auburn.

Naomi Valcin doubled twice for Edward Little (6-4) and scored four RBIs and three runs. Tiana Avila had two hits, three RBIs and scored three runs. Kassidy Lobb had two hits and two RBIs.

Lobb pitched for the Red Eddies, allowing four hits and throwing three strikeouts.

Maddie Cote had a hit and an RBI for Mt. Blue (2-6).

 

MADISON 4, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 3: Kylee Furbush led the Bulldogs with two hits to earn the win in Rumford.

Jillian Linkletter and Hope Nadeau each doubled for Madison (3-4).

Furbush pitched all seven innings for the Bulldogs, allowing three runs and five hits, while striking out five.

Brooke Brown led Mountain Valley (1-6) with two hits, one being a triple, and Hayden Chase doubled. Lanee Boucher pitched all seven innings for the Falcons.
