Drivers on U.S. Route 201 in southern Somerset County should expect delays over the next two months due to planned paving work.

Paving of the highway between Solon and Bingham is expected to begin Monday, according to the Maine Department of Transportation.

The project is expected to be finished by the end of July.

While work is underway, traffic will be limited to an “alternating, single-lane traffic pattern,” Maine DOT said in a Friday news release.

Pike Industries of Westbrook was awarded the $3.2 million contract for the approximately 6-mile paving job.
