RICHMOND — Madeline Hill pitched a no-hitter in the second game of a softball doubleheader as Valley topped Richmond 2-1 to earn a split Monday. The Bobcats won the first game 19-3.
In Game 2, Breonna Dufresne had four singles to pace the Bobcats.
Sam Leathers added two singles and two RBIs for Richmond (6-5).
Valley is now 6-4.
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 19, MARANACOOK/WINTHROP 1: Rileigh Chase had three singles and three RBIs to lead the Mustangs to the win in Readfield.
Riley Smith added two singles and three RBIs for Monmouth (7-1) while Lily Palleschi had a double and a single and Madi Herr and Hayli Paradis added two singles each. Shannah Parsons tossed a one-hitter, striking out eight.
Maranacook/Winthrop fell to 1-6.
BASEBALL
CONY 9, WINSLOW 0: Jordan Benedict pitched a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts as the Rams rolled past the Black Raiders in Winslow.
Benedict also had a hit, an RBI and two stolen bases for Cony (7-3) in the win. Trenton Hayward and Wyatt McKenney had two hits each for the Rams.
Davian Costigan and Tyler Nadeau had hits for Winslow (1-10).
MONMOUTH 15, WINTHROP 2: Carter O’Connell led a potent Mustangs offense in a resounding win over the Black Bears in Readfield.
O’Connell had three hits, including two doubles, and three RBIs. Jacob Harmon, Dalton Comeau, Noah Schultz, Rory Foyt and Brandon Smith each had two hits for Monmouth (7-1)
River Fallos, Robbie Vivenzio and Brandon Chilton led Maranacook (6-3) with two hits apiece.
MOUNTAIN VALLEY 13, MADISON 7: Kaden Paaso and Josh Pollis provided three hits apiece to pace the Falcons to the win at Central Maine Community College in Auburn.
Two of Paaso’s hits were triples, he drove in two runs and scored four. Colby Frisbie had a team-high four RBIs for Mountain Valley (4-5). Tyler Warren also drove in two runs and Seneca Jones had two hits.
Griffin Dickey and Jayden Horton had two hits apiece for Madison (2-7).
MT. BLUE 7, CAMDEN HILLS 1: Oliver Cormier and Warren Allen had two hits each as the Cougars won in Rockport.
Allen had the lone extra-base hit for Mt. Blue (3-5), a double. He also drove in three runs. Nolan Leso allowed three hits, two walks and one run over 5 2/3 innings, striking out nine. Jax Vienneau pitched 1 1/3 hitless innings, with one walk and two strikeouts.
Cameron Brown, Tucker Whitley and Kai Young had the hits for Camden Hills (4-7), with Whitley driving in Eric LeBlond for the lone run.
LEAVITT 18, WATERVILLE 1: The Hornets offense came alive in the third and fourth innings to finish off the Purple Panthers in five innings in Turner.
Leavitt (9-2) trailed 1-0 entering the bottom of the third, but freshman Trent Holst tripled to give the Hornets a shot in the arm. Holst also singled and finished the game with four RBIs. Colten Taylor and Luke Gladu each doubled for Leavitt. Taylor also scattered three hits in five innings on the mound while striking out six to earn the win.
The Purple Panthers fell to 3-7.
