LAS VEGAS – Grace (Charest Upham) Dennell, 82, formerly of Augusta, passed away peacefully with her beloved son by her side on April 28, 2024, in Las Vegas.
Grace was educated in Augusta and was a 1960 graduate of Cony High School. She held various jobs as a young woman and enjoyed almost 30 years employed in the banking industry both here and in California. She and her husband Cliff loved to cook and feed everyone-turning that passion into a specialized Santa Maria Style BBQ catering business. Many wedding, graduation and fundraising event guests enjoyed their delicious meals. After Cliff’s passing Grace moved to Las Vegas where her infectious personality quickly gained her many new friends.
Grace was predeceased by her parents, Henry N. and Germaine M. Charest, her brother John, and her husband Cliff.
She is survived by her children Linda (Alan) Stewart and David (Darlene) Upham; as well as her four sisters Annette Charest, Joan Theberge, Doris Brown, and Anne Dutil. Grace had six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren whom she loved fiercely. Many nieces and nephews were recipients of her love, as well.
A mass of intention will be said on July 19, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Augusta. A celebration of life will be held July 20, 2024.
