AUGUSTA — Parker Morin had two hits and scored three runs as the Cony baseball team defeated Belfast 10-5 on Friday.

Morin also pitched 2 2/3 innings of hitless relief in support of winning pitcher Landon Foster, who allowed four hits and two earned runs over 3 1/3 innings. Foster and Luke Lajoie had two hits apiece at the plate, and Foster, Trenton Hayward and Matt Bosotn drove in two runs each for the Rams (8-3).

Ethan Abbott and Gary Gale each had two hits for Belfast (6-7).

 

HALL-DALE 13, TELSTAR 0: Ben Nathan struck out nine batters in a four-hit effort as the Bulldogs (6-4) won handily in Farmingdale.

Nathan, Nick Brown, Eben Austin and Noah Longfellow each had two hits at the plate. Nathan, Austin and Keegan Cary each drove in two runs.

Wyatt Lilly, Brennan Walker, Brody Walker and Brayden Easterlin had the hits for Telstar (3-8).

 

LEAVITT 8, ERSKINE ACADEMY 0: Four runs in the first inning were more than enough for freshman pitcher Trent Holst in the Hornets’ victory in China.

Holst struck out 13 batters and allowed three hits during in six scoreless innings. He also helped out on offense with a double.

Jace Negley led the attack for Leavitt (10-2), going 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs. Catcher Luke Gladu also hit a double, and Will Keach and Kade Knight contributed two hits apiece.

Landen Blodgett tallied two hits for Erskine (2-10).

SOFTBALL

 

HALL-DALE 19, TELSTAR 0: Ashlynn Donahue pitched a three-inning no-hitter with eight strikeouts and had one of the Bulldogs’ 12 hits in a win over the Rebels in Farmingdale.

Zoe Soule hit two doubles, Jade Graham had a double and a single, Karalyn Coro also had two hits and Mira Skehan hit a triple and drove in three runs. Hall-Dale (9-1) plated seven runs in the first and 12 in the second.

Maylyn Hastings pitched both innings for Telstar (2-8), tallying two strikeouts while issuing four walks. Eight runs were unearned.

BUCKFIELD 3, VALLEY 0: Carmen Crockett struck out 18 batters and allowed one hit as the Bucks (10-1) earned the shutout in Bingham.

Crockett walked three batters. She also added two hits at the plate.

Madeline Hill tossed a three-hitter for Valley (6-5). Kirsten Bigelow tripled for the Cavaliers.

 

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 9, MT. ABRAM 2: Shannah Parsons tossed a two-hitter and struck out 15 batters as the Mustangs (8-1) won in Monmouth.

Parsons also had three hits, including a double, at the plate. Teammate Madi Herr added two hits.

Adrianna Stinchfield took the loss for Mt. Abram (3-7).

 

LEAVITT 6, ERSKINE ACADEMY 2: Hailey Cyr’s all-around effort help the Hornets (10-2) win their fourth consecutive game by defeating the Eagles (3-9) in China.

In the circle, Cyr struck out nine batters in five innings. She aided Leavitt’s offense with a triple and a double. The Hornets (10-2) plated four runs in the second inning, one in the fourth and another in the sixth.

Haley Turcotte doubled and matched Cyr’s game-high two hits. Jordan Boulay also smacked a double.

ST. DOMINIC 17, MCI 5: The Saints (8-4) put away the Huskies (7-5) with an 11-run seventh inning in Pittsfield.

Piper Croteau and Emily Andrews each hit a double and a single and drove in two runs for the Saints. Croteau and Cassidy Russell each scored three runs.

Lily Fortin pitched all six innings for St. Dominic and struck out six batters while allowing only two hits.

Skyla Dean and Chichi Rivera had the Huskies’ hits. Dean also scored twice.
