Marcelle R. Kimball Malinky

WEST GARDINER – Marcelle R. Kimball Malinky, a cherished resident of West Gardiner, passed away on May 22, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. Born on April 21, 1958, in Gardiner, Marcelle was the beloved daughter of Gordon and Renee Kimball.

Marcelle’s journey was marked by dedication and service. A graduate of Gardiner Area High School, Class of 1976, Marcelle shone brightly as the head majorette during her senior year, captivating hearts with her grace and talent. Her commitment to excellence continued throughout her career, spanning an impressive 40 years with the State of Maine. For 23 years, she served as an Aspire Specialist in the Welfare to Work Program, touching countless lives with her compassion and tireless efforts to uplift others.

In her personal life, Marcelle was surrounded by love. She shared 45 beautiful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Jeffrey M. Malinky. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories. Marcelle’s pride and joy were her daughter, Danielle R. Hague, her son-in-law, Joseph P. Hague, and her beloved grandchildren, Nuala R. Hague and Liam J. Hague, who brought immeasurable happiness into her life.

Marcelle’s family circle extended to her brothers, Weston Kimball and his fiancée Joyce LaPointe, and Michael Kimball and his fiancée Laura Naas, along with their families. Though Marcelle was preceded in death by her brother David Kimball, his memory remained a cherished part of her life, along with her two nephews.

Marcelle possessed a remarkable memory, able to recount stories with vivid detail, leaving an indelible impression on those fortunate enough to hear her tales. Beyond her professional achievements, Marcelle was renowned for her culinary prowess, delighting loved ones with her delectable creations. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, reveling in the beauty of hummingbirds and the companionship of friends and family, especially during her cherished cruises.

Marcelle’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering love endeared her to all who knew her. Her presence brought light into the lives of those around her, and her absence leaves an irreplaceable void. Marcelle will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love and gratitude by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In honoring Marcelle’s memory, may we carry forward her spirit of generosity, compassion, and joy, ensuring that her legacy continues to inspire and uplift others for generations to come.

Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 30, at the Viles Arboretum from 2 – 5 p.m., all are welcome!
