The Sheepscot River Race, set for 1 p.m. Saturday, July 6, is a six-mile canoe and kayak race starting in Newcastle at the U.S. Route 1 Rest Area Bridge and finishing at the Wiscasset Waterfront in Wiscasset.
This race is part of the Maine Canoe & Kayak Flat Water Racing Series.
Because of health and safety risks, there will be no awards ceremony. Results will be emailed or texted to the participants.
This race is organized and run by Seaspray Kayaking, with door prizes donated by local businesses. All advanced registered participants will receive a Sheepscot River Race T-shirt.
Registration will cost $15 in advance and $20 the day of the race. Race T-shirts are available to all registrants.
