Carl Edward Rendell

NORRIDGEWOCK – Carl Edward Rendell, known affectionately as “Papa” or “Poppy” passed away on April 3, 2024 at his home in Norridgewock, at the age of 62.

He was born on April 30, 1961, in Cloquet, Minn. to Malcolm and Constance (LaRochelle) Rendell. He was raised in Kalamazoo, Mich. until his senior year in high school when his family moved to Norridgewock and he graduated from Skowhegan High School in 1979. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served four years; from 1979-1983.

Carl then went to school to become a Mechanical Millwright. He was a dedicated Millwright for Sappi, where he worked for 25 years before retiring. He had a passion for all outdoor activities, including hiking, fishing, canoeing, skiing and anything to do with nature. He enjoyed many of these activities with his children and grandchildren that he loved so much.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Bethany Fitzmaurice Rendell; his son, Brandon Rendell and partner Jordin Hanson and their children Mason, Maddox Williams, and Grayce Rendell. He is also survived by his daughter, Emily Rendell Bolduc, her husband Eric Bolduc and their children Malcolm, Magnolia, and Elowyn Bolduc; as well as brother, Alan Rendell of Michigan.

Carl was preceded in death by his father, Malcolm J. Rendell, mother, Constance P. LaRochelle Rendell; and sister, Joanne Rendell.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sept. 7 at Carl’s home on 492 River Rd. Norridgewock between 1 and 3 p.m.
