WAYNE – Maynard Edward Gorden, 72, passed away at his residence in Wayne on May 23, 2024. He fought a difficult battle with cancer, but despite this, he was always more concerned about his wife, Wendy Gorden, who is also battling cancer. It shows how caring and selfless he was, always looking out for others.

Throughout his life, Maynard worked in the construction and carpentry industries, but he was also known as “the pigman” due to his passion for raising pigs for meat and his catering business. Without a doubt, he was a hard worker, whose hands were never idle.

Maynard was predeceased by his father Maynard and his mother, Elizabeth.

He is survived by his wife, Wendy; his brothers Sherman and wife Rhonda, Douglas, and Stewart; his nephews Joshua and Jason; great-nephews Remington and Hunter; and cousin, Peter Robinson.

The family also wanted to share a special thanks to Beacon Hospice.

He will be and is greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Wayne. The date and time will be announced by the family at a later date.

Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at directcremationofmaine.com.

Memorial donations can be made in his memory to the Humane Society in Augusta, or the

American Cancer Society.
