
AUGUSTA — Maine Arts Academy recently completed the 2023-24 school year in its new building.

This is the school’s 8th year of operation, serving 240 students grades 9-12. Students performed 26 times in various communities, at venues like downtown Augusta, the Maine Veterans Home, The Buker Center in collaboration with Augusta Adult and Community Education, Colby College Break, Build, Burn and “Of This Place,” The University of Maine at Augusta, The University of Maine at Orono, Kennebec Valley Coaching and several performances in the
school’s new location.
Maine Arts Academy received a $100,000 COPS Safety grant and $54,000 from the Department of Education for the Maine Outdoor Learning Initiative. The senior class, with 56 graduates, received over $250,000 in scholarship funds this year from colleges and universities.
