BOSTON — The Boston Red Sox overcame a sloppy seventh inning by scoring four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, then walking off with a 7-6 win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday night at Fenway Park.

Ceddanne Rafaela reached on an error to lead off the ninth, moved to second on a balk and scored on a single by Jarren Duran to end the game.

The Red Sox committed two errors in the seventh inning, allowing the Blue Jays to take a 6-2 lead. Vladmir Guerrero Jr. hit a three-run home run in the seventh for Toronto.

Jarren Duran started Boston’s rally in the eighth when he doubled with one out. David Hamilton, who committed an error in the seventh, followed with a two-run home run, his fifth of the season. Rafael Devers singled with two outs, Tyler O’Neill doubled and Rob Refsnyder was intentionally walked. Pinch-hitter Romy Gonzalez then tied it with a two-run single.

Starting pitcher Tanner Houck pitched 6 2/3 innings for the Red Sox, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits, while walking one and striking out seven. Kenley Jensen pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn the win.

Chris Bassitt allowed two runs on five hits in seven innings for Toronto. He walked one and struck out two.

Toronto took a 1-0 lead when Justin Turner, playing at Fenway for the first time since he was a member of the Red Sox last season, hit an RBI single. Devers hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning to give Boston the lead.
