UNION — A 40-year-old man found dead at a home on Saturday died of natural causes, according to the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Jonathan Dodge was found at a residence at 8 Heald Highway, also Route 17.
The Office of the Maine Medical Examiner found that Dodge died of natural causes, but the specific cause of death is pending further studies, Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office was called to the residence at 5:15 a.m. There was a report that the man had been injured in a fall the previous day.
The sheriff’s office contacted Maine State Police, which brought more than a half dozen officers in marked and unmarked vehicles. The Maine State Police evidence recovery team mobile lab also responded to the scene.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
