PITTSFIELD – Roland Frank Frost, 84, went home to be with the Lord on July 10, 2024, in Pittsfield.
He was born on July 1, 1940, in Pittsfield, the son of Domenick and Enrichetta Frost. He graduated from MCI with the class of 1958. He married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen McGowan, in 1961 and they soon started their family.
From 1958-1961, Roland worked for J.R. Cianchette Construction, then from 1961-1983, he worked as a mechanic for J.R Cianchette’s Gas Station which later became Frost Mobil. In 1984, he changed his employment to the Edwards Company until his retirement in 2005.
Roland loved his family so much. He was a strong sports fan and especially favored the Boston Red Sox. He also had a green thumb with his victory gardens. He loved the Lord and had attended Deeper Life Assembly and the First Baptist Church for many years.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Kathleen Frost; three sons, Stewart and wife Deneane, Troy and his wife Stephanie, and Peter and his wife Heidi; five grandchildren, Bailey Frost, Makayla Winslow and husband Caleb, Sadie Frost, Jayde Frost, and Austin Frost and wife Crysta; three great-grandchildren, Laney, Elyas, and Micah; brother, Forrest Frost; and many nieces, nephews; cousins; and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Dino and wife Erlene; and a special grandson, Bretton Maxwell Frost.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, July 14, at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield. A private funeral for family only will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, July 15, at the funeral home.
