I have finished reading Jared Golden’s op-ed in the Bangor Daily News titled “Donald Trump is going to win the election and democracy will be just fine,” and as his longtime constituent, I have some concerns.
It is no secret that the display we witnessed during the first presidential debate was concerning. Joe Biden did not look like a commander-in-chief. The world is on fire and across the globe, our enemies are emboldened by weakness, and they are watching Biden’s inability to lead our country. It’s clear Biden is not up to the task and suddenly, the right questions were being asked: What did Democrats know? When did they know it?
Maine’s Jared Golden has stood by Biden, fought for his liberal policies, and stood silently for years as the president declined. Even in his writings, Golden does nothing to address the concerns of Biden’s mental health and refuses to say if he thinks Biden can survive another term. Saying President Trump will win a second term is not enough. We need answers from Jared Golden, and we need them now.
