WISCASSET — Lincoln County Historical Association plans to host Jailhouse Rock! — an evening of music, dancing and family games on the grounds of the Old Jail at 133 Federal St.
Events are set to begin at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, when Leopard Girls, the mid-coast rock and blues band, strikes the first chords on their electric guitars.
The yard of the 1811 building will host lawn games and races of all kinds. Attendees should bring a picnic or purchase picnic fare.
The association has partnered with Wiscasset Partners in Education, which plans to sell pulled pork barbecue sandwiches, rainbow slaw, macaroni and cheese and a drink — all for $8.
Events will be held rain or shine.
Tickets cost $5 for adults. The event is free for children accompanied by an adult.
To register, visit lincolncountyhistory.org. Registration is not essential, but will help in planning for the event.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
