BELFAST – Jimmy Dale Chiddix, of Belfast, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2024, at the age of 91. He was married to Esther Hinton Chiddix for the last 35 years of his life and cherished his time with her. Jim was a man of many talents. He was in the Air Force from 1951 to 1953. Afterward, he went to college at night and worked for AT&T during the day. When he retired, he became a realtor, first in Maine and then in Florida. He loved tinkering and added doors, moved walls, and installed lights in their various homes. He enjoyed painting and was an avid small-plane pilot. He became so passionate about politics that, in his 80’s, he went door-to-door in Waterville, Maine to collect signatures for rank-choice voting. He LOVED pie, and would drive quite a distance for a good chocolate cream. We hope that, somewhere, he is flying his favorite plane, a Cessna 172 Skyhawk.
