The Worthington Scholarship Foundation has announced the local recipients of the 2024 Worthington Scholarship.

This year’s local scholarship recipients are:

Buckfield Junior-Senior High School graduate Kyen Teixeira.

Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School graduates Zackary Braun, Madison Brown, Devin Day, Meredith Harthorne, Michaela Holbrook, Dakota Morgan, Cameron Sherbinski, Kaeli Spofford, Katelyn Touchette, and Amber Walker-Goodrich.

Mountain Valley High School graduates Aiden Arsenault, Lily Bedard, Kirstynn Blouin, Maisy Chase, and Samuel DeMascio.

Mount Abram Regional High School graduates Izabella Dereszynski, Brooke Douglass, Willow Emery, Payton Mitchell, Trey Reed, and Madison Robb.

Rangeley Lakes Regional High School graduate Averie Flewelling.

Spruce Mountain High School graduates Griffin Achorn, Natalie Bruen, Mia Henry, Ava Jackson, Gabriella McMullen, Jaydn Pingree and Brenden Veilleux.

The scholarship aims to increase the accessibility of a college education by reducing financial barriers and providing support to help students persist in and graduate college. It is awarded to students who graduated from a Maine public high school and are attending a partnering college this fall. This year, the foundation awarded nearly 800 scholarships with values ranging from $6,000 to $20,000, according to a news release from Emily Pratt with the foundation.
