FREEPORT — The public is invited to join Sierra Club Maine at its annual celebration, set for 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at Maine Beer Company, 525 U.S. Route 1.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The evening will highlight Sierra Club Maine members and volunteers, as well as the work of the chapter over the past year.
The celebration will feature music by the band Springtide, woodfired pizza from Maine Beer Company and oysters from Glidden Point Oyster Company.
Attendees can bid on a variety of local experiences during a live auction. Package highlights include four nights at Hidden Valley Nature Center (which has 1,000 acres of protected land in Jefferson) and a two-night stay at Nebo Lodge (an inn and restaurant on the island of North Haven).
Lead sponsors include Maine Beer Company, Evergreen Home Performance, GoGo Refill, Gorham Savings Bank, Piper Shores, Revision Energy and Tandem Coffee Roasters.
All proceeds will support Sierra Club Maine’s efforts to protect Maine’s environment — from the southern coast to the north woods — and engage and activate individuals and communities from Kittery to Fort Kent. Tickets are available at bit.ly/SierraClubCelebrates.
