Skygazers were treated to a rare lunar trifecta Tuesday night, with a harvest moon, supermoon and partial lunar eclipse all occurring on the same night, as pictured from Waterville. The harvest moon is the full moon nearest the autumnal equinox, while a supermoon occurs when a full moon coincides with the moon’s closest approach to Earth.
