WATERVILLE — Maine Students Vote is set to host a Youth Voting Summit from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Colby College’s Diamond Building, 4000 Mayflower Hill Drive.
The summit is designed to inspire young people to become leaders at their schools and campuses. Attendees can network with students, educators, teachers and grassroots organizers from across the state. High school and college students will be the main attendees, but teachers, educators and youth advocates are also welcome.
There will be an opening and presentation with Secretary of State Shenna Bellows from 9:30 to 10 a.m.; guest speakers and Q&A featuring Sen. Rick Bennett and Rep. Mana Abdi from 10 to 11 a.m.; and workshops on building civic leadership skills from 11:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
