Q&A

1) Define what “success” would look like if you are elected to serve your district.
I would define “success” as being a legislator who is accessible and transparent to the constituents, someone who delivers results for the community. Someone who has energy and passion to propose new laws that will benefit the state as a whole and who doesn’t vote along party lines.

2) Name one issue the Legislature handled last session. Explain why you agree or disagree with the final outcome.
The 130th Legislature passed a bill allowing seniors to freeze their property taxes. Too many wealthy people took advantage, towns couldn’t afford the burden and the program was repealed. The additional senior property tax credit created didn’t go far enough. We need to have a bigger conversation about how to fix the problem. Our goal should be to create sensible budgets that take care of our people.
