WATERVILLE — Alexander Turner, a senior at Waterville Senior High School, has been named a semifinalist in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Turner is the son of John Turner and Tammy Rabideau of Waterville.
Throughout the nation about 16,000 semifinalists have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 6,870 National Merit Scholarships, worth nearly $26 million, that will be offered next spring.
Semifinalists placed among the top 1% of high school seniors who entered the 2025 competition by taking the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. The nationwide pool of semifinalists includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state.
