JAY — The Town Office will be open from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 30 to register voters for the Nov. 5 election, Town Clerk Ronda Palmer said.
The deadline to get an absentee ballot without a special circumstance is 5 p.m. Oct. 31, Lori Shink, deputy tax collector, said.
Special circumstances under the state law are:
• Unexpected absence from the municipality during the entire time polls are
open on Election Day.
• Physical disability.
• Incapacity or illness that has resulted in the voter being unable to leave home or a
treatment facility.
• Inability to travel to the polls if the voter is a resident of a coastal island ward or
precinct.
