ROME — The Travis Mills Foundation is set to host an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Travis Mills Foundation Veterans Retreat, 1002 Watson Pond Road.

This event offers an opportunity to tour the campus and learn more about the Warrior Progressive & Alternative Training for Helping Heroes program, designed specifically for veterans, first responders and those on active military duty, according to a news release from the foundation.

People can meet Staff Sgt. Travis Mills, founder and president of the Travis Mills Foundation, and enjoy fall activities for children, a trunk-or-treat even and more.

The event will include guided tours of the retreat and firsthand insights into the transformative experiences offered through the program, which is free to participants.

Attendees can meet the foundation’s staff and hear testimonials from participants who have benefited from this life-changing training. Based on the science of Post-Traumatic Growth, the program provides the training needed to transform struggle into strength in the aftermath of trauma.

The program is offered in 10 locations throughout the United States, including the Travis Mills Foundation Veterans Retreat. The Travis Mills Foundation is establishing a Warrior PATHH Training Center in central Maine to better serve the population of men and women country-wide, but especially throughout New England, struggling with post-traumatic stress.
