At the Lincoln County Democratic Harvest Dinner in Jefferson Oct. 6, I learned from a Democratic campaign organizer that as many as 10 Democratic campaign signs placed throughout Lincoln County had either been destroyed or stolen.
On returning home from the event, a friend who lives near the coast emailed me that her sign for Kamala Harris had disappeared from her front lawn that afternoon while she was out of her house on a short shopping trip.
What is happening to our country? Reports like this are frightening. Where has the respect for our two-party system gone? This destructive behavior not only disrupts the democratic process but also stifles free expression and dialogue. It underscores the need for increased respect for differing political views and a commitment to upholding the integrity of the electoral process.
