I am not sure if this is an issue for the Department of Transportation. Regardless, it is a safety issue for the city of Waterville.

For over 60 years, my family has lived here without any issues. I would like to keep it that way. However, a safety hazard has come about regarding the traffic coming across, and through, Lublow Court.

If these vehicles would drive approximately 50 feet to Main Street, they would be where they belong. Instead, they continually cross Lublow Court with no regard for the safety of those of us who have the right of way.

In our deed, it states that we and the landowner are the ones who are the ones who have the right to use the court.

Each day, 50-60 vehicles cut across the court, making it dangerous.

Were there to be an accident, who would be liable? More importantly, I am concerned about the safety of my family as we enter and exit. We have had numerous close calls.

Most of this traffic is actually headed to a business that is technically on Sanger Avenue, not Lublow Court. It has become a free for all, with cars coming in every direction.

I would not complain if this was merely an inconvenience; however, it has become a serious safety hazard. To be honest, my main concern is the safety of my family. Beyond that, I am also concerned for anybody using Lublow Court. According to our property deed, the right to use the court belongs to us and Harry J. Smith.

I have brought this to the attention of the City Council several times. Unfortunately, it does not seem to be of concern to them.

We were given the understanding that the city vehicles would no longer cut across Lublow Court. However, they (as well as approximately 50-60 cars per day) cut across the court. This puts us at risk, because we don’t know when they’re coming, or where they’re coming from.
