Abortion is a very difficult subject for women. Unfortunately, not for men. There is so much controversy surrounding Roe v. Wade and other commentary about who should get an abortion, and who should oversee that decision. The main factor is, the men who have impregnated these women are not being mentioned.
There are lots of reasons why a woman needs or requests an abortion. From non-viable pregnancies to rape, or she simply cannot afford another child. The one reason I disagree with is abortion used for birth control. There are other methods not nearly as invasive, or expensive. So, in my opinion, if a woman requests an abortion, the man involved should pay for half the cost or if the woman will not name him, a DNA test needs to be done to find out who he is and he needs to pay for half, not the taxpayer. This will make the man just as responsible as the woman! Let’s face it, “It takes two.”
I was faced with the decision, whether to get an abortion or not. I chose not to get one. I have never regretted it. I was fortunate. Not everyone has that luxury. It is my firm belief that the decision is personal. It is not up to the government.
When the government thinks it can tell me or anyone how to live their lives it is time to rethink the people in government. Please, keep personal decisions personal. Don’t allow people who don’t understand why this decision is being made tell us how to live and what to do. It is time for all Americans to think about what is being done in Washington, and the state level. It is time to think for ourselves and not follow the herd.
