PITTSTON – Carolyn J. Dice, 67, passed away on Nov. 10, 2024, in the comfort of her own home.
Carolyn was born in Gardiner on April 22, 1957, the daughter of the late Kenneth E. Peaslee Sr. and Olive A. (Newton) Peaslee. She attended local schools and graduated from Gardiner High School in the class of 1976.
Over the years Carolyn worked multiple jobs including making handbags, shoes, working in kitchens, running a group home and eventually becoming a business owner herself. She had many passions such as gardening, watching horror movies and she loved a good shopping trip.
Her greatest love, however, was caring for and watching over her grandchildren, they were her pride and joy. From her oldest grandson, Hunter “Boo Bear”, Reid “Booty”, Courtney “Baby Girl” to Lucas “Lukaloo” she loved each of them unconditionally. Carolyn also had a long and lasting love for her sister, Lisa, their bond was unbreakable. Carol, as she was known to many, was loved by many people and will be deeply missed. She is now reunited with her sister, Lisa, who she longed for the day to be with her again.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Gary Dice of Pittston; a daughter, Melissa Bossie and her husband Paul of Augusta, a son, Timothy Trafton and his wife Michelle of Pittston, stepchildren, Sam and Ben Dice and Marissa Hallett; grandchildren, Hunter, Reid, Courtney, and Lucas; brothers Kenneth Peaslee Jr. and Stephen Peaslee.
A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements and guidance are in the care of Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner.
