Jeannette Lucille Roderigue

BELGRADE – Jeannette Lucille Roderigue, 91, passed away peacefully on Nov. 12, 2024, with family by her side to join her beloved husband, George.

Born in Waterville on April 28, 1933, she was the youngest daughter of Joseph and Clara Labbe. Jeannette was known for her warmth, generosity, and loving spirit she brought into the world. She was educated in the Waterville schools. She met the love of her life, George, at the Waterville swimming pool and celebrated 62 years of marriage.

Among her most significant accomplishments was raising her nine children, whom she held as her pride and joy. She loved having family gatherings at her home in Belgrade.

She was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. John’s The Baptist Church in Winslow, and for many years they traveled to St. Anne de Beaupre for the annual pilgrimage. They enjoyed numerous cruises, trips to Aruba, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Disney World and many camping trips with family in their motorhome. She loved her gardens, shopping with her daughters, making puzzles and baking her famous chocolate pies.

Jeannette is joined in rest by her parents; her beloved husband; 10 siblings; and many other loved ones throughout her life.

With a hefty family tree and bonds formed from the heart, Jeannette’s reach was as far as it was wide, and she was cherished deeply by many.

Jeannette is survived by her beloved children, Deborah (Thomas) Averill, Cynthia (Jeffrey) Giroux, Diane Roderigue and partner John Koons, Michael (Ann) Roderigue, Joseph (Lori) Roderigue, Venita (Peter) Nadeau, Susan (John) Wallingford, Richard (Nancy) Roderigue, and Rachael and partner Steve Tozier; 27 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two wonderful sisters-in-law, Aline Poulin, and Alice Hubert who did so much for her.

The family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our sister Debbie. She has been our “ROCK” and has been caring for Mom ever since our Dad’s passing in 2016, also our sister, Rachael, who was always there for Mom and through her nursing care allowed us to enjoy many more years with her at home. We would also like to extend our appreciation to Dr. Knausenberger for the compassionate care he gave our mother and the Maine General Hospice Team. We would also like to extend our gratitude to Mom’s caring neighbors for their friendship and an occasional surprise delivery of Dunkin Donuts.

At the family’s request there will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Nov. 23, at 9 a.m. at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 116 Silver St., Waterville.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville. An online guestbook may be signed, condolences and memories shared at http://www.gallantfh.com.
