I am a Kennedy supporter. I hope he will be confirmed as secretary of Health and Humans Services.

There is a difference between informing the public and deciding for them. The election is over. The Cabinet confirmation process has not begun. But the media still think it is their job to decide what the right choice is then inform the public of their decision. If there is a lesson to be learned from studying the last election the media still has yet to read the chapter.

In October Kennedy said, “I’m not going to take anyone’s vaccines away from them. I just want to be sure every American knows the safety profile, the risk profile and the efficacy of each vaccine.”

A vaccine in your arm is one thing but encouraging people to think, and a thought the media hasn’t injected in your brain first? No wonder they think Kennedy is dangerous!

Getting a letter as written in the KJ is child’s play compared with what Kennedy will have to go through.

I believe Sens. Collins and King would ask tough but fair questions in a confirmation hearing. But I am afraid other senators and the media will use the process as an excuse to play gotcha, dig for dirty laundry and cheerlead for their own views without giving Kennedy a chance to express his.

Kennedy and the other nominees deserve a fair hearing. You, the public, deserve a fair process. It would be wonderful if the members of the committees and those in the media allowed that to happen.
