AUGUSTA – Andrew Charles Drouin, 75, formally of Augusta passed away on Nov. 23, 2024, at Hospice House in Auburn, after a long illness.

Andrew was born in Winslow, the son of Fernand Henry Drouin and Doria Emilie (Marcoux) Drouin. His early education was through St. John Catholic School, he then graduated from the Winslow Public High School. He received his BA in English from St. Francis College.

Andy had a 35-year career with the state of Maine and as evidence of his good planning, he was able to retire at the age of 58 years old.

He was a scholar and a world traveler, having visited many faraway places such as England, Ireland, France, Italy, Russia, and Egypt.

Andy loved his family and friends and was always in attendance, and often times, hosting many family events. He was wonderfully creative, and we will dearly miss his awesome culinary contributions to our family gatherings and holidays.

Andy’s creativity was also apparent in his love for amateur photography and in the artwork, he created and proudly displayed in his home.

Andrew was predeceased by his parents Fernand H. Drouin and Doria E. Drouin.

He is survived by his siter Rose (Drouin) Monceaux and her husband Leonard Monceaux of Louisiana; his sister Tina Drouin of Winslow Maine; his brother Terry Drouin and his wife Tresscia Drouin of Albion Maine; his nephew Gregory Fox and his family of Georgia; and his nephew Thomas Drouin and his family of Freeport Maine.

Funeral Services will take place on Dec. 6, 2024, at 10 a.m., at St. John Catholic Church, Winslow. A gathering will follow.
