WISCASSET – Wiscasset Holiday Marketfest’s Second annual Christmas Cookie Challenge is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at AEkeir Brew Pub, 1st floor, 111 Main St.
Approximately a dozen home bakers plan to bring a platter of their favorite holiday cookies to put on display. The scene will be set to welcome the panel of judges, all local, professional bakers, according to a news release from Lucia Droby with the Wiscasset Creative Alliance.
The event organizers, Monique McRae and Ann Clifford know what to expect. In 2023, the bake-off venue “was buzzing when the judges arrived to sample and judge the cookies,” saidd Clifford. “Spectators were eagerly waiting for the judges to finish, especially the kids, so they could begin purchasing the cookies (by donation). The winning cookie was gone within minutes of the Challenge wrapping up.”
